::I am a frequent business traveller from Australia and rarely post many reviews, however I recently felt compelled to share my experience at Sixt Lausanne as a warning to fellow travellers (My negative experience was also somewhat amplified as I was on a family holiday in Europe). If you are considering the services of Sixt please take a minute or so to read my short story. I have engaged the services of many car rental companies in the past, when making my booking with Sixt remotely from Australia (recommended by a friend as I normally always use Europcar), I was methodical in the services I required and subsequently booked online. Upon collection of the car in Lausanne, the staff member was polite enough, but I recalled hearing some mumbling around 'additional services' to reduce excess etc. As a frequent traveller I never use any additional services in that regards. I specifically advised that I would not be requiring any such services (My wife who was also present concurs). On drop off in Zurich, I again ensured (with their staff) that all was well, and the vehicle was returned with no damage and no additional cost to be paid. Then....to my horror on my return to Australia Sixt had decided to help themselves to another AUD $626.43 from my credit card (almost doubling the entire hire fee for services I did not request or approve). Claiming that I did in fact express to their staff in Lausanne that I wish to accept their offer of a 'protection package' which I vigorously denied (I am so fed up of the ‘do you want fries with that’ approach). After multiple emails and phone calls, I have received no sign of any settlement to my issue. How frustrating these sorts of things can be, especially when trying to defend myself from the other side of the world. The moral of my short story? Please help yourself and choose Europcar!

::Ils m'ont facturé des frais d'essence alors que le véhicule a été rendu avec le plein (finalement remboursés), ainsi que des dégâts que je n'ai pas commis. Entre incompétence et escrocrerie, SIXT est de loin ma pire expérience de location de voiture. A cela s'ajoute le harcélement pour vous faire payer en vous demandant de faire jouer l'assurance de votre carte. Je ne recommande absolument pas.

::Never rent a car from this company. They will charge you for the accident that never happened. We rented a car from Zurich airport to go to Lausanne, where we retured the car next day. After a few days they sent us an email that you had an accident and you have to pay 750 CHF. An accident that never happened. Regardless of our complain, they finally took the money. Trust me, it is the worst car rental company I have ever tried.
